FROM OUR
FAMILY FARMS
TO YOUR FAMILY TABLE.
Our food starts close to home. We work with a tight-knit horse-and-buggy farming community, with many of our family farm partners located just a short distance from our Newton butcher shop. These are relationships built on generations of farming knowledge and care.
From grass-fed Black Angus beef and Heritage Berkshire pork to free-range chicken, free-range turkey and brown eggs from free-range hens, we stay closely connected to the farms, families and practices behind the food we sell.
Rooted in our local horse-and-buggy farming community, we bring fresh meat and good food from our family farms to your family table.
Visit our Newton butcher shop for grass-fed beef, heritage pork, free-range poultry and farm-fresh eggs.

GRASS-FED
BLACK ANGUS BEEF
Our Black Angus beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, raised on local family farms within our farming community, using traditional breeding lines suited to a grass-based diet.
The cattle eat grass forages right through finishing. During winter, they continue eating grasses harvested and preserved as hay or baleage during the growing season.
HERITAGE
BERKSHIRE PORK
Our Berkshire hogs are raised by families we know, with year-round access to the outdoors. We select Berkshire breeding lines and have developed our own Maitland Valley non-GMO feed ration with meat quality in mind.
This heritage breed takes a little longer to mature, producing pork with rich flavour and beautiful marbling.
FREE-RANGE
CHICKEN
Our chickens are raised on family farms and fed Maitland Valley non-GMO feed. They have access to grassy outdoor spaces when the weather allows.
After processing, the chickens are air-chilled using circulating cold air, avoiding the extra water weight that can come from water chilling.
FREE-RANGE
TURKEY
Raised by Ezra and Linda Zehr in Millbank, our turkeys are fed Maitland Valley non-GMO feed and have access to grassy outdoor spaces when the weather permits.
Our turkeys are air-chilled after processing and raised with care for tender, savoury meat.
FREE-RANGE
BROWN EGGS
Our brown eggs come from free-range hens on family farms. The eggs are hand-collected, and the hens have access to grassy outdoor spaces when the weather permits.
Working with Jones Feed Mills, we developed a Maitland Valley non-GMO feed ration that includes dried grasses to help produce rich, golden yolks. Our flocks produce a range of egg sizes.
BONE BROTH
+ TALLOW
The care we put into raising our animals carries through to more than the meat counter. At our Newton shop, we use bones and fat from these same animals to make bone broth and tallow.
